ARCA biopharma Opens New Headquarters
Company Expands and Prepares to Commercialize its First Product

Broomfield, Colo., July 8, 2008 – ARCA biopharma, Inc. announced that it has relocated its corporate headquarters from Denver to a new 15,000 square foot facility in Broomfield, Colo. This larger facility gives ARCA the space needed to expand operations and prepare for the potential commercialization of its lead product candidate, Gencaro™ (bucindolol hydrochloride), a pharmacologically unique beta-blocker and mild vasodilator in late-stage development for heart failure.

“ARCA is preparing to transition from a purely research and development organization to one focused on commercialization of pharmaceutical products for patients with cardiovascular disease,” said Richard B. Brewer, president and chief executive officer of ARCA. “Our new headquarters makes it possible for us to build our infrastructure and attract talent from both Denver and Boulder.”

The city of Broomfield is located along the Denver-Boulder Turnpike, approximately 15 miles north of Denver and 15 miles southeast of Boulder, which makes it an ideal location to draw potential employees from both cities.
